Put the TV already on your wall to work

RedSquare lets bars, restaurants, barbershops and gyms sell ad time on the screen they already have to local advertisers. No new hardware, no subscription.

We're growing the network. Every booking is free while we test with real venues and advertisers; paid ad time opens later, with at least 30 days' notice.

RedSquare is free during launch for one reason: to grow the network and test the whole system with real venues and advertisers, so that everything works, and there are screens worth booking, before anyone pays. Paid ad time opens later, once we're confident everything works, and we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it does; you'll never be charged unless you book and pay for ad time yourself. When it opens, advertisers pay per play at the screen owner's price, and the owner keeps 80% of the screen-time price; RedSquare keeps 20%.

Your owner account is also an advertiser account, so you can advertise your own business free on the other screens in the network while we grow. Your screen, your rules: approve ads yourself or automatically, set your hours, and pause any time.

How it works for screen owners

    1. 1. Open the Screen Player — nothing to install

Start today: open tv.redsquare.app on the screen — nothing to install. Most reliable: a computer, mini-PC or tablet connected to the TV. Many smart TVs' own browsers (recent Samsung and LG, and Fire TV's Silk browser) can open it too — if you see a pairing code, you're set. Roku and many Google/Android TVs have no web browser. Apps for Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung, LG, Roku and Apple TV are coming to each device's store. Early versions for some devices can be installed now from the download page.

    2. 2. Pair it in one trip to the TV

The TV shows a pairing code. Type it at Add a screen in the RedSquare app, fill in one short form, and verify the location from your phone.

    3. 3. Set your price and hours

You set a price per 10-second play and the hours your screen takes bookings, in your own timezone. Change either at any time.

    4. 4. Decide what plays

Approve each booking yourself, or let bookings through automatically. Every ad is moderated before it can play.

    5. 5. Keep 80%

When paid ad time opens, with at least 30 days' notice, you keep 80% of the screen-time price; RedSquare's fee is 20%. Payment processing is paid by the advertiser as its own line, so your 80% is a true 80%. Until then every booking is free, and you can advertise your own business free on the other screens.

    What you do not need

    • New hardware — the screen you have is the screen you use
    • A subscription — the app and the Screen Player are free
    • A second account — the same login lets you advertise too
